completely? bricked jolla [answered]
Hi,
I did a very stupid thing with my jolla. Instead of formatting the SDcard, I accidentally formatted the /dev/mmcblk0p1 partition as an ext4 file system. Moreover just to make sure of the disaster to come ... I deleted the Partition using fdisk.....
Tried to enter recovery mode (remove, insert battery holding the volume down button, etc) but I don't think there is a recovery partition to boot into .... No jolla logo, nothing
All I see is (when I connect jolla with my ubuntu desktop) in syslog: usb 2-1.2.1: new high-speed USB device number 8 using ehci-pci usb 2-1.2.1: New USB device found, idVendor=05c6, idProduct=9008 usb 2-1.2.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 usb 2-1.2.1: Product: QHSUSB_DLOAD usb 2-1.2.1: Manufacturer: Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM mtp-probe: checking bus 2, device 8: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1.2/2-1.2.1" mtp-probe: bus: 2, device: 8 was not an MTP device usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic usbserial: USB Serial support registered for generic usbcore: registered new interface driver qcserial usbserial: USB Serial support registered for Qualcomm USB modem qcserial 2-1.2.1:1.0: Qualcomm USB modem converter detected usb 2-1.2.1: Qualcomm USB modem converter now attached to ttyUSB0 usbcore: registered new interface driver zte_ev usbserial: USB Serial support registered for zte_ev
Is there a way to dd a working jolla (I have a friend close by with a working jolla) and push it to my bricked jolla somehow using the /dev/ttyUSB0 ?
Any ideas? (I only had it for a week but it's something that i'll cherish forever)
Thanks a millon
Without a full eMMC backup it's going to be difficult, as I presume there's stuff that's tied to the specific device.
