Bad Luck! Had the same issue but fixed it with recovery tool. Mind that there is a know bug when resetting to 1.0.8.! https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202208763#31 Did you try with mmcblk workaround?

It doesn't work. it shows "mount: mounting /dev/mmcblk1p1 on /mnt failed: No such file or directory" to me....

someone had the same thing and got it fixed as i understand: https://together.jolla.com/question/65568/mmcblk1p1-no-such-file-or-directory-or-how-to-screw-up-a-user-for-a-whole-night/ looks like the solution is to recreate /mnt folder on you jolla.

Ok, so the solution was to closely follow the given instructions and learn a little slash and space ABC/101 on side of the OP :D Device is saved!

the recovery image might be old you have to have a memory card to do the job by placing an image file in the memory card and copying it to the phone..

Plesse read the comments before giving answeres already propsed as a comment and rejected as not working by the OP... He did all steps according to the how-to you linked, but ran into problems when mounting the sdcard. It really looks like his bootloader is damaged and only jolla staff might have deeper hints on how to solve it... best of luck to the OP! Bad experience on bis second(!!) day with jolla -.- hope he keeps his head up!

Dear Vivek

I got the result below...

/ # mount /dev/mmcblk1p1 /mnt mount: mounting /dev/mmcblk1p1 on /mnt failed: Invalid argument

touchingwiz ( 2014-12-28 10:40:04 +0200 )edit

Vivek is right! Again in simple words from where you stand. 1.The recovery-menu you have on the phone and trying to use is not working with your current installation 1.0.8.x.You then correctly tried to supply the downloaded recovery-menu from sdcard but mounting it to mnt gives the error "File not fond". This refers to missing /mnt folder on your phone. So vivek and others simply created it with the command "mkdir /mnt" following the file not found error. Now trying to mount to the now exting folder should work and you can go on with the instructions from the answere above. Sorry @touchingwiz, that was hat i was trying to text you via FB-Messenger. so i feel the need to again elaborate ;)

I think it should be "mkdir /mnt"! "mkdir mnt" without the slash may create the folder in wrong place

dear touchingwiz,

follow the recovery method explained in doc with recovery-menu file in memory card. when you do last step factory reset it comes out. again start the terminal. mkdir mnt and copy recovery-menu file from memory card to /usr/bin and then do factory reset. the recovery process gets completed and device boots again and fresh start with welcome screen. but this time...do not install apps but update to latest update 10 and then install necessary apps.
