Dear Jolla users/supporters/fans, since we are still expecting new phone to appear, I think it is time to indicate to Jolla what we really expect from a Jolla 2 Smartphone, now, in Spring 2015. The poll will contain just a hardware wish list. Software, as you know, can be changed on the fly and for it we have releases. Hardware is a monolith piece of equipment and all ideas should be consolidated on one place. This is the reason I am making this poll now.

Each possible, important, major entry, will be a separate answer. It will contain general description of the feature and we vote on it. If you want to further specify it - extend it, explain why it is important to have (or not) please create a comment under the question. The comment can be voted on too.

Please check the existing features (answers) before creating a new one, to concentrate the poll and make it useful and relevant. Please also do not put negative votes - instead create another entry (answer) with the technology you want. Keep comments outside of answers, in Comments only.

duplicate as basically every tjc entry is a poll already https://together.jolla.com/question/19564/jolla-2nd-device-hw-suggestions/

Chemist, this is NOT a duplicate. It is a better, properly structured poll, such did not exist so far. The one you are referring to is messy and disorganised, outdated.

Jose, please remove your comment, it spams the poll. Most of the points you raise are included in the poll. Feel free to add some, if not there. But such big opinions are not useful to the poll, as they make it unreadable.

@Atanas I second @chemist, yet I like your approach. Perhaps this thread has a good reason to co-exist.

A barometric pressure sensor. A niche component, but could be used as a very accurate altimeter (various geo/sports apps) + vario for flight applications (gliders)

USB 3. When you start dealing with very large flash memories and multi GB data transfers USB 2 just isn't fast enough.

USB 3 Type C may become the standard so hoping on the bandwagon could be an option

kingsley.bugarin, this is USB related. We have USB OTG option, would be better if you move this as a comment under it. I am not a mod and can't do it.

At least 10 4g LTE bands for global support.

It seems that the Intel x3-c3440 has global LTE support. ...but probably not support for every system out there.

the nokia 1520 has the best display in ghe market, include these three technologies. What do you think about the partnership with leica and philips?

Please do not put more than one feature in any answer... These could be four different answers, and I think the first two are already there.

mikelima ( 2015-04-06 13:32:21 +0200 )edit

Ok but the first two answers are different because Super Amoled(its only Samsung Oled), and leica optics can be an alternative to carl zeiss. Zorry but i must mention these points

Twice as much RAM at least! A better/more louder main speaker! In my opinion a quad-core CPU & too high screen resolution kills or drains the battery much faster, so an efficient dual-core is just fine. Perhaps this CPU/GPU at most efficient SoC needs to be considered. I'm sure our Sailors are thinking about this :) Improvements of the screen, as already mentioned but please keep the compatibility to TOH! Most of us here at Together would not like to have a larger next Jolla and I very much like the size as well :)
