Jolla has already informed that SailfishOS 1.1.4 will not support FB messaging via the user interface. It's also been shared that there are some talks started with FB

Is this also valid on SailfishOS 2.0?
Can we get notifications on incoming FB messages in SailfishOS 2.0?
What FB messaging options there will be all together?
Which IM services will be officially supported in SailfishOS 2.0?

EDIT: As Jolla stated on several occasions that SFOS 2.0 will be the same on Jolla Phone and Jolla Tablet apart of some UI differences due to the smaller screen on the phone, I edited the question to reflect SFOS2.0 instead of Jolla Tablet.

It is not a matter of Sailfish OS. It is Facebook who is changing and closing their API making it impossible to implement it in SFOS neither 1 or 2. I asked about it some time ago here I mentioned there also that Google is planning to go away from XMMP. It looks like it is a general trend for big players on IM market to abandon open standards. That's a pity :(

Big players gain nothing from supporting open standards. Once their user base is big enough, they can close the gates and lock their users into their proprietary protocols. They probably even need to do it for business reasons: It minimizes the risk of users changing chat providers. - It's up to the consumers to avoid such companies. There's no use in supporting them as a customer while at the same time saying it's a pity how they abandon open standards.

It will be the same for Sailfish OS 2.0 unless FB changes again their API.
