E-mail updates and reading/downloads fails randomly and sometimes it works just fine.

I can see the imap login on my mail server, but after a while Mail app complains about Problem with sync. Pine, Evolution, Thunderbird, N9, Z10 have no issues with my server, Cyrus IMAP using SSL connection.

Is there some logging that I can check on the device to see what is going on ?

I'd start with journalctl -fa from the terminal, you need dev mode though. I haven't experienced sync problems aside from the already reported unreliable sync schedule.

I have sometimes seen that "Problem with sync" message on mail app. Seems to me it is related to network issues.

I get problems with sync on my "job email account". Google-mail-imap works without problems.

No problems on other phones (mainly iPhones I used to have previously, 3GS and 4S)

Have tried SSL and TSL encryption options, both are very unreliable.

Can the problem be the size of the INBOX ?

OK, I cleared old emails from the INBOX, and now it seems to be more reliable..

Some large IMAP folders - e.g. my SailfishDevel folder - won't finish loading for me using Courier IMAP. It loads for a while, then stops with the error:

In ~/.config/QtProject/Messageserver.conf I've set

[StdStreamLog]
Enabled=1

and ran pkill messageserver5; /usr/bin/messageserver5

The release notes to 1.0.7.16 Saapunki says: "Fixes an issue that prevents sync from finish when fetching large amount of data over IMAP4 protocol", but for me the sync problem is still living.

After a time not online I restart WLAN. Then I started the mail client and started a manually update. The update stops with (in german) "Synchronisation fehlgeschlagen" = sync error. The next manually update is fast and ok.

The automatic syncs works fine. Of course my mailbox has many folders with many mails.

@utkiek - Can you get logs for that ?

/home/nemo/.config/QtProject/Messageserver.conf

enable file log and add a path for the log, like for example:

[FileLog]
Enabled=1
Path=/home/nemo/Documents/messageserver.log

Reboot the device and reproduce the problem, send me the log file to mail-logs at jolla dot com. After that turn file log off again by setting "enabled" to 0.Thanks a lot!
