No displays for warranty cases? No explanation from Jolla care. How disappointing...
I have the problem with yellow stains on my screen again (screen replaced septembar 2014 because of the same problem). This is a known problem of Jolla phone (see here).
Contacted zendesk and after giving the asked info no words from them for more than one week, although I commented a few times and asking for information about this obvious delay (last time in 2014 they answered the next day with Fedex pick-up info).
Today I found this post which made me aware that there is a problem with display supplies. Also this answer from zendesk to someone with the same problem is not very encouraging (September 23, 2015):
"A situation has developed which may lead to a delay in repair service for the issue you are experiencing with your device. We are working to solve the situation as quickly as possible. We will close this ticket for now and get back to you once we have more information."
Since Jolla obviously doesn't want to comment on this issue, is there someone out there with information about this problem?
EDIT 20/10/2015: It is almost a month now without a word from Jolla (jolla care, zendesk)!?!? I write something once in a while in hope to get them to respond, but nothing happens. I would have never tought that Jolla customer care would act like this... I am really, really, really disappointed...
I'd keep mithering them until you get an answer, if your request went in before your warranty ran out (if it has) then you would expect them to honour the warranty if they have been slow in response, I also sent my phone back (again) for a speaker issue and the phone was replaced - I assumed as they are not making phones now - or at least - 'not yet' I dunno I'm guessing, but the first time they repaired it. The second time around I also waited 5 working days or more for a reply and only just got it back to them in time before warranty ran out. If it's out of warranty why not try contacting the place that does their repairs for them? I believe it's Optima Service in Finland, or at least that appears to be where mine's come back from, twice. HTH
davekelly ( 2015-10-03 02:11:07 +0200 )edit@davekelly I don't know how it is with other countries, but who purchased the phone from EU countries has a warranty of 2 years (since EU laws apply), so it is still in warranty. There are a few posts regarding this here and here.
Neo ( 2015-10-03 11:55:46 +0200 )edit@Neo thanks for that, I hadn't realised, nice to know I'm still under warranty myself, that's cheered me up a bit to know!
davekelly ( 2015-10-04 14:10:24 +0200 )editI had some hw issues (main issue was that couldn't charge battery, there was also group of dead pixels at screen) just bit before release of 1.1.7.28 and I contacted jolla and got introduction to send phone to warranty repair. I was just asking them to take a look at screen also, but said that if I got charge issue fixed I would be very glad. It was surprise for me that they endeed changed the screen also. It took about 3week though. I frequently checked at repair service site, that my phone state was "waiting for parts" for a quite a long time.Sure it's different matter if you havent even send your phone to repair service yet. But just writing this to say that atleast there was a while ago screens available, eventgough those had to be ordered by repair service.
