Following the thread of Any success stories of buying Aqua Fish from ebay? I wonder what's your opinion about the phone? How's usage compared to Jolla 1 (if you can compare)? How's life without European 4G? How's battery life? Do you think quality is good? Any other opinions? (as a side note: I'm less interested in Android support, but feel free to talk about it)

I ask because I badly want one (or "badly want new Sailfish OS device") and I'm not sure if I should wait for some European device or buy it and enjoy it like I enjoy my Jolla1.

Currently using the Jolla C, but will switch to the Intex Aqua Fish for a while now. Also I will attend Hackover so I can share the experience with LTE in Switzerland (Swisscom) and Germany (Blau.de, O2/E-Plus).

It's a nice phone but does not feel any faster that Jolla 1. And only drawback is that in UK I am not getting any 4G with o2. Apart that it's a lovely phone

doesn't feel faster than Jolla 1?!

To me it just feels like night and day, it's so fast, battery life is much better, screen is brighter, the Android apps work so well with some more ram too. Google maps even works with GPS now ,which has never worked for me before.

I'm totally loving this phone, the price is the icing on the.cake.

I have bought two Intex Aqua Fish from ebay India. I removed Intex stuff immediately from both. Btw, there is now -10% discount available with INTEX10OFF.

Aqua Fishes work great. Only bug I have experienced this far was that sometimes there is no notification/alert for received nor missed calls.. I hope it gets fixed in next update.

LTE seems to work nicely in Finland (operator DNA)

I bought an Intex Aqua Fish from Ebay India in November '16 for 120,- CHF = 109,- €. It's originally packed, unopened. I offer it for 115,- CHF or 105,- €. h-s.jutz@gmx.ch

Hi I'm from Spain and I have the Intex aqua fish for two months has worked wonders both 3G and LTE here works very well. The only problem I have is that the speaker to hear the call hear very low and can hardly hold a conversation not active if the handsfree but the rest is a great phone. By the way if anyone knows how to turn up the volume from some hidden menu would thank regards

Well tell you that I have solved the problem of ear speaker for calls. It was very easy, remove to access the speaker, remove and had as metal chips, wipe with a powerful magnet. Also clean the contacts of the speaker and stand where the phone goes, mounts are all tested and works like the first day. Fantastic. Again I enjoy my Sailfish 2.0 and am happy with, as I said here in Spain works well with 4G smoothly. regards

I have had 4G working but there seems to be a glitch of some sort, that after going to from 4G to Wifi and back to 4G it stops working.

I have one since mid of August 2016 replacing my good ol' Nokia N8 (which now still is my alarm clock). Bought through e-bay and probably slipped through as there was no import tax or VAT added. Total cost: €95,99

I think the square design with the orange backside is quite ok. The materials are cheap, but what to expect for less than 100 Euro. Operation is smooth, much smoother than I expected. The camera image quality is so so, but for taking pictures I have a DSLR.

So far everything is working, however, there are some issues in the OS that needs to be addressed: some examples:

  • notifications from Android apps is not 100%
  • since Sailfish OS 2.0.2.51 there are some kind of soft resets closing all applications, but the system keeps running
  • calendars getting duplicated
  • mobile data getting disabled

The phone connects to 4G (Netherlands) and it runs all applications that I need (including android apps)

One disadvantage: The usb connector is on top of the phone which is making it difficult for me to make a call while charging (the connector irritates my ear), and in the car the charger cable will go from top of the phone to somewhere below the phone for the 12V plug.

I don't have a Jolla device, so I cannot compare. I ordered this phone because I wanted to try Sailfish OS

For the notifications from Android apps: There is a Patch available on OpenRepos (in Warehouse if you have installed it) called something like "android chatmail notification". It adds better notification support for some apps and if you need one that's not supported you can contact the developer and he'll put it in (for me it was done in a day to add hoccer).

@Skillmon I have warehouse installed, but there's a huge number of pages/subpages in there... any hints where to find the "android chatmail notification" patch ? I have looked int he patch menu but can't find it (or overlooked it) - NVM : found it !

I'm using the Intex Aqua Fish for a month now and encountered 2 major downsides:

1 I'm unable to connect the phone properly to my carkit (Volvo C30).

and 2 which is a very bad one is this.

All the rest works fine.

I've had the af for approx 2 weeks now and it's been a rocky start. I like the hardware (part from the white-only led) but I've had quite a few issues getting started:

First I couldn't retrieve my backup from the sd card. This lead me straight to problem nr two. When I tried transferring my contacts via bluetooth from my Jolla 1 I couldn't get the phones to pair up. After several attempts I managed to get the two connected and began the sync. Only half of my contacts were transferred. However after a few attempts I got all contacts over to the aquafish.

Once again I had trouble with the bluetooth as it was difficult to get it to pair up with my car(Audi A5). once it did, the phone dropped the bluetooth so I couldn't use it.

Finally I've had some trouble uninstalling gaana as it has randomly popped back. However the situation seems to be fixed.

A minor issue I've also encountered is that the phone doesn't always warn about low battery.

That's all I can think of at the moment, I'll add stuff if I encounter other problems
