I had the same problem with my work phone which is connected to company's office365 exchange server. I got it working like this: Shutdown the phone. Go to your exchange account/settings for mobile devices using webmail. Remove the problematic device and all devices you are not using anymore.
Boot your phone, should work after a short wait. Mine worked almost immediately.
Here is an Microsoft KB page relevant to this problem: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Fix-email-sync-issues-or-remove-a-device-from-your-Outlook-com-or-Outlook-on-the-web-mailbox-a120b820-99da-41ef-9df6-a4bd6e2ea800?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
Based on 247's comments, you might need to remove your accont fromthe phone as well. But I suggest you first try to remove your phone as a sync client from server's end.
Yes, I think thats the way. This tip is actually provided by Microsoft. When I was digging my own problem I found this tip within the webmail UI somewhere (cannot remember where). Removing phones from the sync table does not make any changes. They will appear there once they try to sync again. Just be careful and try not to wipe your device remotely.

My exchange account was working, but sometimes synchronization stalled and I had to remove / add the Exchange account again.
Last time it stalled, I removed the account and now I cannot make it work again. Once configured, the synchronization does not go through (email folders do not synchronize, contacts do not synchronize, calendar is OK).
I tried uninstalling Jolla's exchange support and installing again, but that did not solve the issue. I also removed the device on the server but it did not work either.
Are there configuration files that can be removed on the device using a file explorer app? If so, whare are they located?
Regards.
Guillaume
I have now finally managed to get the Exchange account to install again. However, the sync of emails is very unreliable. It gets stalled and I have to restart the phone for it to finally sync.

What service are you using? Both of my Outlook accounts work just fine, but I could never get Zoho Mail to work.
