PC-connection through USB-cable, transfer attempt: files disappeared?

I connected my phone through a USB-cable to a PC, in attempt to move files. I chose "PC-connection" on my Jolla upon connecting. Looked like the transfer had started ("trying to move the files" -was the message) on the PC's OS (Mint). In a couple of minute's, the file transfer dialog disappeared, i thought it was nothing, to try again... But: those files now had disappeared permanently, nowhere in the phone to be found. The transfer TO Jolla worked splendid with those files. Is this a bug? Why did those files delete just like that?
