Delay between screen shuts off and lock activates [answered]
It happens to me quite often that I read some e-mail or web page and then suddenly the screen shuts off. Then I quickly want to continue reading but I get annoyed as I have to double-tap + swipe-down + tap-app.
There should be some kind of remorse timer kind of feature for the auto locking / auto blanking screen so that if you immediately wake up the screen if would not show the lock screen but continue to show the app exactly as it was before the screen turned black.
Maybe a five second delay between screen goes off and lock screen activates?
In comments it's suggested to dim screen before shutting it off. That would be OK.

this is mentioned in this 4th comment. Considering that, i kind of consider this duplicate.

- getting back to last app should be much faster than it is now (current setup is IMHO pretty ridiculous)
- a clever idea to use remorse timer to indicate screen will go to sleep
MartinK ( 2013-12-27 04:09:57 +0200 )editI think this would be best solved by warning the user by dimming the screen significantly 5 seconds before locking down. (Also I think this is how N9 did it ;-).) There are other questions open about returning to the last application after device is locked.
