[Question] 2-year warranty in EU [answered]
Hello,
I am aware of the closed question here, but I have doubts about the answer. As far as I know, most of the goods (certainly things like phones and laptops) you buy in EU have 2-year warranty period as one can read e.g. here and it should not matter whether I am a citizen of EU (which I am) or not.
I would like to buy Jolla in the near future but 1-year warranty is putting me off. Can I get an opinion from someone at Jolla about why they don't provide 2-years and how is this in accordance with European law? Thank you.
I am not sure about EU law, but Swedish law gives me 3 years warranty against design and manufacturing flaws. This is on top of any factory guarantees made by the manufacturer. So I can dsregard any manufacturer guarantees, they are only important if they give me more than the law does, and they hardly ever do.
