This article talks about that "You will soon be able turn your Android device into a Sailfish device"

Jolla pioneered the ability to use existing Android hardware adaptations with the libhybris project and the first Jolla device is built upon an Android hardware adaptation (but is not Android, just uses the hardware adaptation)

What devices would you like to see SailfishOS on - what chipset, how much RAM, how big internal storage, what resolution and screen size, cores and speed? .. and why?

If a device exists already as an answer, vote it up!

Acer Iconia A1! I don't like Android so would love to use Sailfish in that too! :)

Droid 5, if leaks are true it should be very comparable to current Jolla (S4 dualcore, 1Gb RAM, 16Gb internal) but better screen 720p and HWKB

Should the title read 'Android-based devices'?

I see a lot of demand in the Answer section for Jolla (or nemo) Tablet. But before that happens, you must support landscape first. Please make it happen ;-)

I think this would be a nice improvement for the main Jolla website: allowing people to sign-up with their e-mail and current phone model they would wish to have Sailfish OS on. They could then be announced when Sailfish is available for their phone. I have friends who are interested in this.

HiSense Sero 7 32Gb. Very cheap android device but I hate the OS with a passion. I only use it as a web browser/email client so would happily risk Sailfish on it. Specs look like it should handle it fine.

I'd like to see a table (not tablet, table) like the old MS Surface (or whatever its named now), running SailfishOS in horizontal and vertical applications - but with limited typing input. This is where I'd like to see Sailfish running on at least 60in screen, and through the use of an application which works from a tablet or mobile phone to either host a session (controlling all the screens), or host a sub-session (hosting one screen) - this idea of screens/session is like the apps/tasks screen where content runs in those spaces and can be manipulated, but not outside of that unless a person has control of the entire table.

The app on the mobile device would be a mirroring/VNC/VLC kind of app to control that screen/session (I talk about that here about an Android-Chromecast mirroring app in development).

SailfishOS allowing other devices to swim alongside it. That would be pretty nice.

In order to get some user traction, Jolla should port Sailfish first on the most popular Android devices like Nexus series, Samsung, LG, Motorola and do not forget Nokia N9. N9 users are likely to adopt Sailfish more quickly due the roots of Jolla. But if Sailfish will not offer a great experience all this marketing mechanism will gloriously fail. People are looking for a better experience, long battery life, a fluid and intuitive graphical interface, an exceptional use of phone hardware, lot of applications or at least most used ones. Jolla, you need to have Sailfish perfectly ported to each device, (bug free) otherwise Android users will leave with a bad Sailfish taste. Mean time, a solution would be to clearly mention that these Sailfish ports are alpha, beta etc.

The Nexus S, untill recently the standard for ports of anything and everything. The first to receive AOSP builds.

There are alot of those still laying around, the hardware is not bad, and it was also designed to be used single-handedly (with a curved screen), similarly to Jolla!
