As the amount of questions grows, adding right tags to your question gets more and more important. Readers do not go through a list of 1500 questions - they filter them, and most easiest filters are the tags.
Questions can be filtered with several tags (showing only questions which have them all) - Note: searching for multiple tags only works on the quick search (bar on the right), not in Tags page (link at top right).
The most important reserved tags are:
update Reserved only for release notes issued when a new software update is available.roadmap Reserved only to tag items that are committed to be delivered in a future update.
Please note it is important you do not use these else the tags relevancy is lost.
The most important user tags are:
feature-request / enhancement / idea Use when the question relates to new featuresbugUse when existing feature, either in UI, App or in the device itself doesn't work as it shouldhow-to Whenever your question is about how to get something done with existing features.androidwhen the question is anyhow realated to Android Support (usually an Android App)ui/ ux UI stands for User Interface, UX for User eXperienceaskbot IMPORTANT when your question relates to using this together portal(version number) when you are referring to a certain software, it's a good practice to mention the version with the matching tag, like 1.0.2.5.
If the question relates to a single Sailfish App, it's also normal to add a name of that app as a tag. Most used at the moment are email,browser,contacts/people, calendar, camera, settings
Tags like Sailfish, SailfishOS and especially Jolla are not too useful, as about all questions relates to these.
Differentiate:
For example ambience is a meta-setting and has functions - while ambience-creation should be about what is missing in the path of creating those or how-to create them. Edit: when adding a multiple word tag, use "-" between the words.
IN CONCLUSION: Try to select tags wisely. Well chosen tags direct the right kind of attention towards your question and helps others, including developers, to concentrate on questions of their speciality or interest. Avoid extra tagging - the ability to use 5 doesn't mean there have to be 5.
ALSO: If you run into an important question, and it seems to miss a relevant tag, please edit the question to add one. Not all together visitors are familiar with using tags, so we could help each other a bit here. The goal is to get the most important questions under development (at this point, they are probably the questions tagged with bug, ui, uxand existing Sailfish application names.
Would it be a good idea if I converted all these to one wiki "Together Guidelines" (question including the topics, each topic linking to the appropiate answer)? By this we would have another 4 posts cleaned, and one central for any future guidelines too.

Moreover, making a very big post bears the risk of diluting information. I have already noticed that on smaller posts, some of us tend to read too quickly and miss critical bits of information :) I'd rather attempt to improve how the existing topics are presented than merging them into a real big long post... What do you think?@eric I had no idea that Featured Tags were selected by moderators - looking at those now I see your point, no need for any combining. By the way, I suppose you implemented the
guidelinestag in the first place? In the presentations I used the model suggested by "Help" (question as a question). It seems to work, as there are no comments conserning that. Later I've found it useful to add links to the question part when there are a lot of answers (see here and here). In overall, I think that the actual question is good to be presented at the top, quite short, but any amount of additional information fits below it. Looking at those two links, do you think that the "answer list" should be moved to the top too, right after the question?Another point of view... what I wrote above might fit to the polls and guides, but what about the main issues - bug reports and feature-requests? In the dev point of view, breaking into details is probably the best way as long as the tags are used well. We are yet in the beginning, everything still under control, but if something isn't done soon I smell a problem in the future: Later, in the user point of view, the current system might make it almost impossible to avoid duplicates, and it might spread the votes all around so that some very important issues are not found by the voters any more. Maybe it would be easier for average users if there were clear topics where they report, e.g. question "Email bugs", each answer representing one bug, all answers (known bugs) listed in the question. Same goes with "Email feature requests" or "Sailfish UI gestures" etc. Votes for questions would determine which subjects users see as the most important, and votes for answers would work better too. How would the dev team see this as an option? Would this work in that other end?
Additionally the current system relies on tags quite strongly. Tag clouds are not yet part of the basic knowledge of an average user, so this plays a role in the future too. Anyway, everything's great so far :D
