[bug] Contact transfer from Jolla to Jolla

I tried to sync contacts between two Jolla phones via Bluetooth (using option in settings app). Tranfer from one having less contacts, none of them linked, went ok, but to the other direction (from phone with many contacts, some of them linked) just didn't work.Transfer seemed to start all right, but then it kept on rolling, and in the end no contacts were transferred.

As a workaround, I made a backup of the contacts and moved it from \home\nemo\.vault\People\data\all.vcf to my computer. Now, do I need to manually combine it with a similar backup from the other jolla and then restore a backup including contacts from both the phones, or can I just import it as a file to add the contacts? Is there any risk to loose the contacts in the phone I'm adding them to, using this workaround? Do I have some other options?

Are you able to help me debug this issue (requires developer mode)?

If so, do:

$ systemctl --user stop msyncd
$ killall msyncd
$ MSYNCD_LOGGING_LEVEL=8 devel-su -p msyncd

then in separate terminal, do

$ devel-su journalctl -af | grep "syncml\|obex"

then trigger the sync. The output in the journalctl window should be informative. You may need to set the RateLimitBurst and RateLimitInterval values to 3000 / 10s respectively in /etc/systemd/journald.conf (or to zero respectively, for infinite), to avoid log truncation. Please send it to chris dot adams at jolla dot com.

Thanks, Chris.

@chris.adams I'll try to reproduce and follow your steps, thanks

Any news on the bluetooth issue? This seems to effect a bunch of people now, and not just transferring from Jolla to Jolla, see bluetooth-issues-pairing-transfers-to-jolla-phone.
