Since a few weeks updates and installations of android apps takes hours. I only see the installation screen with the message "Installation" and then nothing happens. I have an Intex Aqua Fish with build 2.1.2.3. Any suggestions?

i think you use playstore. 1) deinstall it, install an old version and prohibet updating itself. 2) (imho better variant) get yalp from fdroid (you can download yalp without installing fdroid) and install playstore-apps with that.

Thanks. I will try the second variant and then post the efford here.

I downloaded yalp with the browser, but its installation is also hanging. My suggestion is that this is not a problem with a specific store but with the sailfish installation routine itself.

no upvotes for your question, that means usually its no "real" bug. did you try to deinstall and install aliendalvik via store again?

mettska ( 2018-01-01 22:23:09 +0300 )edit

Thanks for your hint. How can I deinstall alien dalvik? I can't find it in the jolla store. And I didn't find any description at google.

I'm experiencing the same problem, I tried to update all my android apps ( facebook, instagram, whatsapp etc..) in my Intex aqua fish (sfos- 2.1.2.3) , and some of them were able to load and install, but many applications got stucked. I also reset my phone, downloading and installing them from store but the apps are still stuck with the "Installing..." label...

Maybe mettska is wrong and we're talking about a real bug. I hope about the coming upgrade of sailfish to fix that.

I agree with ab_connor. At least the following question seem to be related:

  1. Android applications very slow and unstable

  2. gms.persistent using a lot of CPU

I also experience the same issue. I think it's a real one

I did a reset to factory settings and made a journey throu the system updates to 2.1.2.3.Now every thing is well. All android apps are installing fast. As I wrote in my comment above, on the Intex Aqua Fish the google play store and services are installed as default, because of "gaana" (indian app). Now, I'm a little afraid of updating Google Store to 8.6.22. Maybe this update makes the problems?

Hi guys I Have the same issue and I resolve it by downgrading playstore and google play services Try it.

can confirm this, after deinstalling the google play services via the green Android-Store (letting it replace it with the factory version automatically) apps are installing again.

Please make clear whether you are using Google Store or another store. Google Store uses signatures and is not supported by Jolla.

I'm using the official jolla android store. But if you've a look at comments at answer 1 you will see that it's not depending on a specific store.

I just saw that there is installed Google Play Store and Google Play Services on my Intex Aqua Fish for default.

If it is installed by default on the Aqua Fish, it must be supported by either Jolla or Intex, I presume?

Federico ( 2018-01-06 00:10:05 +0300 )edit

not by jolla, they don't support googles playstore. Therefore, I doubt inex will do so.
