Agenda/topics:
- Name / IRC nick: LouisDK
- topic: Future of Alien Dalvik for Xperia X some details about the topic: Alien Davik for Xperia X is currently stuck at Android 4.4. Is there any chance we'll see a version bump?
- approx time needed: 15 min.
- Name / IRC nick: LouisDK
- topic: Compass support in Alien Dalvik some details about the topic: The compass has native support for Xperia X however it doesn't work in Alien Dalvik. Is there any chance that this will get fixed on Xperia X? What is the status of compass support for alien dalvik on XA2?
- approx time needed: 10 min.
- Name / IRC nick: LouisDK
- topic: Alien Dalvik support for Gemini PDA / Cosmo communicator
- some details about the topic: As the sailfish adaption for the Gemini PDA is based upon Android 7.1 the Alien Dalvik version for the Gemini PDA will be locked at Android 4.4. Is that correct? Will the Cosmo communicator be based on a higher Android version thus allowing the Alien Dalvik version from the XA2 port?
- approx time needed: 10 min.
- Name / IRC nick: LouisDK
- topic: Keyboard shortcuts for Gemini PDA / Cosmo communicator
- some details about the topic: Would Jolla be able to link certain keyboard shortcuts to certain swipe features regardless of keyboard support in the specific apps?
- approx time needed: 5 min.
- Name / IRC nick: fravaccaro
- topic: Explore DocuWiki for the community wiki
- some details about the topic: continuing from a previous mer-meeting talk, I would like to present docuwiki as a possible container for the community efforts. Some upsides:
- Portable: as pages are stored as plain txt files, they are easy to create, edit, delete, parse.
- WYSIWYG editor.
- Markdown support (even GitHub-flavored one).
- Granular permission system.
- Multilingual support.
- Intelligible and easy review/recent changes system.
- Easy to setup: no need to fiddle with jekyll.
- Tuned to work in shared-hosted servers.
- Being a wiki, it lowers the bar for potential contributors, as they don't need to get confident with developer-oriented wording and concepts such as PR, branch, commit, etc.
While GitHub/GitLab "could" do most of these, it doesn't mean they should be used; basing a wiki project on them is a bit of a stretch and not really future-proof.
A PoC is available here: https://jollacommunity.it/wiki/ . I'm up to provide the jollacommunity.it domain and server.
- approx time needed: 15 min.
- add your name/nick using the template below to suggest a topic.
- indicate how much time you will need for the topic so we can timebox the meeting accordingly
- please be as thorough as you can with your question/topic
- if you can't make the meeting please ask and then name a substitute who can in your place.
It is expected that you show up and present your topic, or name a substitute and make sure they attend in your absence. These IRC meetings are for real time participation and live discussions, otherwise you can post the topic on here on TJC or on the mailing list and get responses that way.
We need you to be present to clarify details in the topic, and to ensure the discussion is leading to the answers you are looking for! If you do not participate or your question/topic isn't clear enough it will be postponed. Also: Always ask for *more time than you anticipate your topics needs!!*
Please try and have your topics ready by at least 3 days before the meeting. This will help us have answers ready beforehand to save time. Topics announced afterwards will be postponed to the next meeting.

Nice that you decided to move this here from the previous pad - I think TJC will serve well in this purpose also, also good to have many different topics under the same roof. Meetings might get new people too?
simo ( 2014-08-21 23:19:11 +0200 )edit@cybette I wonder about the outcome of the action items 2 and 3 from the September 23th meeting:
alex25 ( 2014-10-28 08:46:46 +0200 )edit> 2. Jolla to possibly spare some engineering time and fix up the proprietary bits to at least not crash and burn on SIP
> 3. cybette to poke SIP/dialer guys in Jolla
Unfortunately SIP is still not usable using the latest Jolla update.
