Don't understand what the problem, but I can't send mails from my Hotmail account. It receive mails without any problem, but on send I get "Problem sync" or "Can't send mail from mymail@hotmail.com". Setting from here (Apps that support POP3 and SMTP):

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-il/windows/outlook/send-receive-from-app

Tested with ports 25, 587, 465.. with SSL, TLS, without secure, with/t authentication (password), with smtp-mail.outlook.com and smtp.live.com

Still can't send mails... Any help please :(

Hi Schturman,

Check out this webpage, which was updated today, look under title "How to configure a mail client for Hotmail POP3?" http://techblissonline.com/hotmail-pop3-and-smtp-settings/

May be there is just one thing you missed, or didn't fill right?, it's easily done!

Were you able to send before?

Hi, here is the config, created automatically by the Jolla, which works for me: smtp-mail.outlook.com / StartTLS / 587 / Password

If you have issues, the best is to enable logs and see what is happening. How to enable logs is described here

Try following (both have been tested on a Jolla - one was a @hotmail.com address, the other @outlook.com). Re-create your account with following settings:

OUTGOING Nr 1

  1. Username: yourname@hotmail.com
  2. Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com
  3. Secure connection: SSL
  4. Port: 587
  5. Authentication: Password

OUTGOING Nr 2

  1. Username: yourname@hotmail.com
  2. Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com
  3. Secure connection: StartTLS
  4. Port: 587
  5. Authentication: Password

I hope one of those two options work (and make sure your login data is 100% correct!).

Don't know if it helps, I had some problems to configure my email account too. At some point the settings of my email account got corrupt. I could receive emails but I could not send one. My solution was to delete this account and create a new one with the same settings ... after that everything works fine.

Only the 587 port number is working on Hotmail account setup. I have tried with all remaining port number. But, only one works well. Please update the info here.
