Everyone, if you are using Mitakuuluu, stop using it immediately. Whatsapp has started blocking numbers of people that are using it.

I stopped using mine before it's blocked. I did try to install the android whatsapp client but I got discouraged from the long list of permissions it was asking to access my private data. I am now considering buying a cheap android device, which will be empty of data, to run those applications ;-(

Is there anyone out here who switched from an iPhone with paid account to Jolla?
I just read about this problem here, because I didn't get banned.
2 1/2 years ago, i had an iPhone with Whatsapp. At that time, you just had to pay once for Whatsapp Service. I never had to pay again. However, I don't know, if that has changed in the time that i bought a Jolla.
When i switched to Jolla, I installed Mitakuuluu and I didn't delete my account via iPhone. I could register without problems. Every worked fine for me.
Now I looked over the FAQ on the whatsapp site. It seems like an account on an iPhone are handeled differently. Or am I mistaken??

I've had no problems with it so far. But that may be because I'm using a rather old version (0.8.3-2). I should probably have updated, but Coderus keeps pumping out updates at such a pace... Which is a good thing by the way.
Anyway, it seems to be a problem for more recent updates. So if you're able to get an older version, you should be alright.

I've never had a Facebook account but that, and Whatsapp, is what I would have opted out if I did... If what you say is true.

That the protocol differences were triggering alerts is another thing entirely. It's even possible they've added some quirks to the protocol to catch unofficial clients too.

I was previously under the impression that regardless of minor irregularities on client side, if you were on a paying account, their policy was don't-care. If paying accounts were blocked ... there may have been a recent change in policy. I was on the 'bad' iteration of Mitakuuluu when others were being banned, and I wasn't banned, and have a paid account.
