Spelling mistakes in German translation
I've noticed a few spelling and grammatical mistakes in the German translation. As far as I have seen, they only affect strings that have been added in Yliaavanlampi.
Weather app
- “Infromationen” -> “Informationen”. I don't know how this typo went unnoticed.
- “Öffne app” - “Öffne App”. “App” is a substantive and should be spelled with a capital A.
- However, you should rather use “App öffnen”for the sake of consistency (“Aktualisieren” is infinitive, “Öffne App” is imperative; also, infinitive is used everywhere else in SailfishOS).
- “Keinen” -> “Keiner”. Nominative is used whenever nothing else is indicated.
- “Wetter Standort” -> “Wetterstandort”. Those words are never separated by a space. If this word is too long to be displayed, try using a soft hyphen (U+00AD).
Messages app settings
- “Gross”, “Extra gross” -> “Groß”, “Extra groß”. All German speaking regions except Switzerland and Liechtenstein use the sharp s.
- “Beachte dass, dein Netzbetreiber…” -> “Beachte, dass dein Netzbetreiber oder der des Empfängers die Nachrichtengröße einschränken könnte”. This is so wrong that it hurts. Did you use Google Translate for that?
If you suspect that these regressions/mistakes appeared with Yliaavanlampi, could you mention this question in: https://together.jolla.com/question/82037/release-notes-upgrade-112-yliaavanlampi-early-access/ ?
Unless you already did so, of course. :)

tokaru ( 2015-02-23 11:17:25 +0200 )editOr "Riesig". Although that sounds kind of funny in this context.
Venty ( 2015-02-23 14:32:04 +0200 )edit@Venty still be better than Outlook's "Groß" < "Sehr groß" < "Riesengroß" < "Enorm groß" ;-)
