Everyone, if you are using Mitakuuluu, stop using it immediately. Whatsapp has started blocking numbers of people that are using it.

I'm still using Mitakuuluu. I have not faced any issues till date. Even the Android app is also working.

well the discussion how it is shaping, really do no belongs here. Users are getting blocked for real, even on latest update too. I was one of them. I got the reply from support that i was using unofficial client and thats why i was blocked. So it's better to stop using client and follow proceeding on app page. To know how to recover blocked account and further discussions, it is better to ask on developer's issue page on github, this is not the right place. https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuuluu2/issues/278
Did you get blocked after sending an uncompressed picture ? Official client compress all files before sending. Mitakuuluu by default not.

... well there is only one thing we can do now. take apart their client after each of their updates and make mitakulu indistinguishable to the official whatsapp client sans anything that is fishy of course.

Did anyone manage to get his account unblocked? Whatsapp hasn't been answering my emails sent from the Android client so far, it's getting quite worrying.
I did not. You'll probably need real Android phone / tablet and after that send the support request from inside the WhatsApp application. I think Alien Dalvik is not enough "real" Android for WhatsApp.

At this time we have decided under our own discretion, to unban your account. We appreciate you downloading the official application and using a supported device.
Should we determine that your actions continue to violate our Terms of Service, your account will again be banned. There will be no possibility of an appeal.

yes, this info is passé now. the developer has posted the update and described what was wrong. But the new update is laggy, so for now, avoid using Mitakuuluu, and stick.to android version .
Latest Mitäkuuluu just works fine. I wasn't banned on the old one and I'm still using the new one. Also the laginess started with Update9, not with latest Mitäkuuluu version.

I'm using paid subscription of Whatsapp (for a few years time) and so far no ban. I'll just keep using it and if they were to ban me, then it's time to search for an alternative.

Alex ( 2014-10-31 20:42:33 +0300 )Whatsapp does infact mention in their FAQ that using unofficial clients is not accepted. That the protocol differences were triggering alerts is another thing entirely. It's even possible they've added some quirks to the protocol to catch unofficial clients too.

I was previously under the impression that regardless of minor irregularities on client side, if you were on a paying account, their policy was don't-care. If paying accounts were blocked ... there may have been a recent change in policy. I was on the 'bad' iteration of Mitakuuluu when others were being banned, and I wasn't banned, and have a paid account.
