What features do you desperately need?

This is a list of missing features that we desperately need, sorted by votes. Feel free to add more, but only with a proper link to a question, so we can also vote on specific questions.

The Jolla crew uses the tag roadmap to show requested features forming part of a defined plan. There is also a general roadmap and a development roadmap.

Note: The numbers in parantheses {xxx} at the front are the votes each question had collected. If it has an -R after the number it indicates the roadmap tag is present, a -r? indicates the Jolla crew responded positively to the question but the roadmap tag is not present.

EDIT: Automatically updating list here, and the features tracked by Jolla here. As we already have these options via search, there's no need to update the list below. Return to default view here, or manually by removing the filter(s) and sorting questions by activity instead of votes.

EDIT2: There's a similar way to do that for bugs. Requested fixes here, those under work here

EDIT3: Just for fun, here's a list of bug requests ;) (let's work together to remove either of the tags on these)

Last time fully updated on 29 June 2015.

Let's try to keep this updated, at least after each Sailfish release!

While not a roadmap feature, additional keyboard layouts (official that is) is what i'd like to see.

SailFishOS/Firmware updates that don't require the user to open a Jolla account.

  1. Less restrictions for harbour-apps
  2. Better user control over apps access to hardware/data
  3. More API documentation, so things that aren't done by Jolla can be done by others, together with 1, several points on the list could be done by the community.

Make the choice available between a point or a comma in the NumPad. Some apps call the NumPad, and need a point as a decimal separator, but my NumPad only shows a comma ...

Btrfs optimization improvement (any B plan?)

Just a personal recent experience: after 1 year on Jolla1, starting from SFOS 2.0, I'm now going to restore it because 1 day ago, SUDDENLY, my J1 got unstable, no more free space (while it was 54% used).. No more power on for minutes.. The long time to power on.. Then unstable.. Then no possibility to make a backup.. Then no possibility to instal Developer Mode.. No more repos.. No more Ambiences.. UI destroyed.. No possibility to chance any setting.

Then I entered Safe-Mode from Windows (Thanks to Dax), made a btrfs balance: J1 powered on quickly.. Data was ok, but.. No more repos.. No possibility to install Developer Mode.. UI destroyed..

During the night it was always on.

I'd like to have POIs, but I don't like the need to use yet another account at yet another service just to manage my POIs. On the N9, POIs are stored in a SQLite database, which at least provides the option to manage them on device. An official API to do so would be preferable. Importing and exporting or syncing POIs and tracks with other services could then be made by the community.

I like your idea Fuzzilogic. I thought that the login to Here maps would be an easy way to "activate" POI sync before trying out fancier ways.

Please keep the discussion in the relevant question so others can comment if needed. Any way, the link has been added to the list.

Just voicemail notifications when I have a new message because a lots of operators use notifications that are not visible on Jolla!!!

It's not a feature or a simple desire, it's essential for everyone and it's not the case right now...

Shameful. I hand't even noticed that I'd missed voicemails until I read this.
